Sunrise Adventures' mission is simple - teach safety, judgement, and risk awareness and prevention first, foster a love for the vertical and alpine environment, and prepare climbers to venture out on their own in the future. Our staff is without question the most experienced climbers and guides in the Green Mountains, with your safety and education our priority.

Bert Severin, Director

Bert SeverinBert has been climbing, skiing, and adventure racing around the world for the past amga17 years. He has guided and climbed in South America, The European Alps, Kyrgyzstan, and other exotic locales, as well as Yosemite, Joshua Tree, the Colorado Rockies and the Canadian Rockies, and up and down the East Coast. Bert is an AMGA certified Rock Instructor, AIARE level II, NREMT-B, WFR, Swiftwater Rescue Level I, and has attended two intensive Rigging for Rescue Seminars. Notable races include 4 Vermont 50 endurance runs, numerous 36 hour endurance adventure races, and the Ukatak 300 mile winter expedition race. He is also a volunteer for the Colchester Technical Rescue Team.

Dustin Dearborn

DustinDustin's interest in climbing and adventure has taken him all over, from Aconcagua in South America, to ice climbing in the Canadian Rockies, alpine climbing in amgaKyrgyzstan, big walls in Red Rock and Yosemite, and ski mountaineering in Switzerland and Germany. However, his passion lies in the steep ice and trad climbing offered by the lesser known cliffs and crags of the Northeast. Dustin holds the following credentials: B.A. in Outdoor Education and Leadership, AMGA certified Rock Guide, AMGA Alpine Guides course, AIARE Level II Avalanche, Rigging for Rescue, WFR, Swiftwater Rescue Level I, Wilderness EMT.

Alex Sargent

intermediate iceAlex has been an avid climber since 1991. His impressive resume is well amgarounded, including big walls in Yosemite, the high summits of Aconcagua, Denali, and Ama Dablam, alpine climbs on Ben Nevis, the Ruth Glacier, and the Matterhorn - the list goes on and on! In his not so spare time Alex can be found winning the occasional adventure race or ultra marathon. Alex is an AMGA Rock Instructor.

 

 

Bob Timmer

bobBob has a long history in Vermont rock and ice climbing, with many first ascentamga credits in the area (That's him on the cover of the local guide book). Othernotable ascents include Chogolisa in the Karakoram region of Pakistan and Mount Logan in the Yukon territory. Bob has also climbed most 5.11 cracks and grade V ice in the region while building his log cabin from trees he harvested. Bob has been an AMGA certified guide since 1996.

 

 

Rob Niles

Rob NilesRob has been climbing and guiding for five years. Notable ascents include big walls in Yosemite, Ama Dablam in Nepal, Peak 11,300 in the Ruth Gorge, AK, and many pitches in Red Rocks and around the East Coast. Rob is a certified AMGA Single Pitch Instructor.
